2 busy weeks

These last 2 weeks have flown by.  Last week the babies had an event or play date everyday - including 2 Halloween inspires dress up events (I won't post pics because I don't want to ruin the surprise).  This week was also busy.  We went to baby groups Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  We also got the babies passports this week.  No travel plans yet but with Brian's knack for travel deals you never know...

As math teachers we are taking every opportunity to work on the twins numeracy skills - even in the bath!

Last week I tried to get Josie used to wearing a headband so that she would wear one for her baptism.  Pretty cute eh?

Big Boy James loves his new ride on car.

Friday night PJ party!

Erin's mom Debbie made the twins the most adorable ponchos and hats.  I can't wait to take them out in these!

Tuesday at Babies on the Move.  James loves walking back and forth using this ledge for support.  Josie loves the dog toy.  She kept saying dog while she played with it.

Wednesday play group.  We were early so the babies got all the toys to themselves.

No baby groups today so we played dress up.  They are just so darn cute!

JJs Baptism

The twins were baptized this past Sunday at our church, Islington United.  The twins were so well behaved in church, as was our niece Addison who was also baptized.  After the baptism we had family and close friends joined us for a reception at the church.  It was such an awesome day.

James had such a fun morning that he couldn't make it through the afternoon.

Our amazing Godparents.

10 months old!

We did this months photoshoot at the cottage.  I can't believe they are 10 months old.  It is getting harder and harder to keep them still for photos.

The twins have conquered so many milestones this month.  They are both crawling everywhere, pulling themselves up to stand on anything they can reach and using the furniture to "cruise" from one spot to the next.  They have also added the word mama to their vocabulary but they only use it when they are crying:(
This month James had started experimenting with standing on his own.  He will now push off while standing and hold his position on his own for 10-15 seconds.
This month Josie mastered clapping and waving.  She claps on command or whenever we sing a song and she waves to everyone.

It is amazing how much these little ones are accomplishing each month.  They are growing up so quickly and it is so much fun watching them play and learn.

Happy Thanksgiving

We are spending a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage on Lake Erie.  Today was gorgeous and Josie and I had a great walk on the beach.

As usual we had another busy week this week.  Monday we went to the new Early Years Centre that just opened up near is.
Tuesday, Brisn was home sick so we had a quiet day at home.  Wednesday we spent the morning at Queensway Church for their Mommy and Me program and our afternoon at the Early Years Centre for our weekly Babies World group.  We were having  our roof replaced Wednesday so we had to be out of the house all day.
Thursday we went for a long run/walk in the morning and then had a visit with Aussie Di in the afternoon.  Friday morning we went to our Lakeshore babies group and then for a walk along the lake with some of the other moms and babies.

For their birthday I bought the twins this activity Center.  My plan of course was not to give it to then until December 10, but they love climbing up on things so much I just had to give it to them early.  They love it!  They also love playing at it together.  They don't really seem to be interacting whole they play, except to steal each other's toys.  But they do seems to move around their play room together so if one is standing at the play house the other is soon there too or if one is chewing the pieces of a puzzle the other comes over and does the same.  The interactions of twins are so fascinating and I love it that they are growing up with their best friend always by their side.

James giving Josie a kiss!

It's almost impossible to get them to sit still long enough for a picture.

This is Josie's new hair band for her baptism.  She hates wearing it but it is so cute.

Nothing says happy birthday like...

Having the stomach flu.  James got in on Thursdsay, Brian got it on Friday and I had it on Saturday.  My wonderful, amazing husband got to spend his 33rd birthday cleaning up my puke and making a late night run to the convenience store for apple juice.  On the plus side we did get lots of family time this weekend.

The twins each reached a few new milestones thus week.  James is now crawling on his hands and knees, not his tummy.  He has also started pulling himself up to standing and pushing off so that he is standing unassisted for a few seconds at a time.

Josie is pulling herself up on everything including her toy box and James' crib.  Brian also taught her how to clap this weekend.  What amazes me is that to get her to clap all we have to do is say the word, not even demonstrate.  Our babies are so smart!

Auntie Jenn is married!

This weekend we travelled to Windermere House for Jenn and Kevin's wedding.  It was an amazing weekend.  My mom and Marsha came to watch James and Josie while we were busy with wedding duties. As usual they proves to be amazing grandmas and were able to dress them in their fancy outfits twice, keep them entertained during the wedding, feed them dinner and get them to sleep for most of the night.  I'm exhausted just typing all that out.

This week with the excitement of the wedding behind us we have gotten back into our routines.  We have also found a new at group in Mississauga called Babies on the Move for active babies 9 months and up.  James and Josie love crawling around to all the other babies and moms - they are very friendly!
In fact, the babies have become so mobile that this week Brian had to install baby gates.
